Well, here is Episode 7 with Gabe Schray!
Gabe is a very accomplished musician, having played a variety of instruments in quite a number of bands over the past 15 years. He is a true goober. His instrument of choice, as well as musical genre, varies from project to project, ranging from instrumental math rock to dub to prog pop to Fleetwood Mac cover band, just to name a few.
Gabe has self-released several albums in CD-R form over the years, and is seemingly constantly recording in his home studio. Here's how his on-going instrumental solo project is described by his label, Bark and Hiss: "It's kinda tough to describe Gabe's instrumentals, since they exist outside of any current trends... a bit of King Tubby style dub + 80's Sakamoto synth-pop... sometimes it makes me think of Tortoise as teenagers, if that makes any sense at all."
As per Gabe, think Angelo Badalamenti and Brian Eno.
